Private Equity Internship

Standard Investment is an investment company based in Amsterdam. They have been structurally improving companies since 2004. There are 18 companies in their portfolio with more than 4,000 employees and a turnover of more than € 1 billion. The entire Standard Investment team has a preference for medium-sized companies: companies with little politics, short lines, plenty of strategic and operational challenges, where they can really make a difference. Some of the companies in their portfolio include: Burger King Netherlands; Staples; Veterinarians Group Netherlands.

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work with experienced professionals and learn from seasoned investors turning theory into practice. The internship will involve 

• supporting the team in searching for new investment opportunities 

• researching markets and companies

• assisting with the full M&A process, incl. management meetings, due diligence and preparation internal & external documents

• close involvement through strategic and/or operational projects in their portfolio companies. 

Who we are looking for in this private equity internship:

• You have an entrepreneurial and hands-on mentality.
• You combine strong analytical, social, and communication skills in your work.
• You are able to process and analyze information efficiently and independently.
• You are fluent in Dutch and English.
• You have one or more relevant previous internship experiences (such as M&A, private equity, venture capital, or consultancy).
• You have completed a quantitative Bachelor's degree at a university (such as economics, econometrics, business administration, finance, computer science, or other STEM fields).
